Dead Zed

Dead Zed will place you near the mouth of hell, put a gun in your hand and wish you good luck. This is the online game dedicated zombie fans have been looking for.

Dead Zed is a POV shooter game. The player is perched on the second story of a farm house and must stop wave after wave of zombies from reaching the barricades, which will slowly be torn down if the monsters make it that far. The best feature of the game, however, isn’t the main shooting section but the strategic secondary features. Everyone knows the old maxim ‘time is money;’ the designers have incorporated the clever element of using time as money, literally. Use hours collected as currency to perform needed actions. If you have enough time to spare you can send out search parties to collect more weapons and other survivors.

The members of your party can be assigned to different tasks, usually based on their skills which will be displayed in different colored numbers. Assign members to defend the house, repair the barricades or search the surrounding area. You’ll find that these features of the game will prove to be more critical to winning than killing all the zombies. This isn’t just another mindless shoot ‘em up, you’ll need to deploy your brains as well as bullets (just don’t let the zombies get hold of the former).

There is one downside to the gameplay. The reload for the weapons is so slow the zombies make it half way across the screen before a new clip has been inserted. At the early stages this is no problem but by day 30 when there are over 100 of the brain hungry beasts heading straight at you a 3 second reload time seems like an eternity. Despite this minor annoyance Dead Zed is a first rate flash game of mindless bloody zombies, straight shooting and careful maneuvers.
